Cape Town en-route to Namibia

Being welcomed by the completed sight of Cape Town's most iconic tourists attraction was an enriching start to our stay at AQUARIUS http://www.aquariussuites.co.za in Table View.

The view from our room

We stayed for three days to make sure enough time was available for the final tweaks of the equipment for the JEEP for our overland travel to remote destinations. Nick rewired a plug on the inverter (connected to the dual battery system) so that we are able to charge the laptop and cameras. Whilst I was preparing by resisting the V&A Waterfront or pricey vegan restaurants and instead shifting my priorities to purchasing ‘camping suitable’ food.

We ended our stay in the mother city on Signal Hill. This is a very popular lookout point for tourists and locals. The pass is opposite Table Mountain.

The Nguni cattle decorated the empty appearing fields that rarely get interrupted by small towns on the road reaching towards the border.

The little town of Springbok was our first camping destination where we stayed one night and then took on the road to Namibia.

I had mixed emotions about the decomposing Oryx which Nick spotted at the side of the road, but witnessing nature's cycle is important for me on this trip.
